Just like Mobile Movies, another innovative outdoor cinema community is screening films on rooftops in New York. Rooftop Films originally started showcasing short films on a rooftop in Brooklyn. Now in its 10th year, they screen over 275 movies at more than a dozen locations, including the roof of the Old American Can Factory in Gowanus (Brooklyn) and the roof of Downtown Community TV in TriBeCa (Manhattan). Screenings take place Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays all summer long through September 23. Tickets are $8. by Billy T
